Born in Worcester, Massachusetts, Vera is a professional flutist who grew up studying with many great Boston Symphony instructors. After graduating from the University Of Miami School Of Music in Coral Gables Florida, Vera performed for twenty one years in the Florio and Ginsberg Duo. Vera has recorded on the Golden Dawn Records label with her album entitled Soul Songs. Vera has performed for a multitude of dignitaries, such as the Duke and Duchess of York, Norman Schwarzkopf, and Tommy Franks, and has also played at countless special events and concerts.
Composer/lyricist, pianist/vocalist, recording/concert artist, writer/speaker/educator Joy Katzen-Guthrie is devoted to uplifting and empowering through the arts. A Memphis, Tennessee native who has made her home in the Tampa Bay area since 1981, she contributes to many programs of musical, cultural, historical, continuing education, and spiritual content in the Tampa Bay community and beyond.
She presents cultural and spiritual music programs for individuals of all ages in synagogues, churches, educational, arts and cultural institutions. She is a long-time concert artist and instructor for Eckerd and USF OLLI and Road Scholar (formerly Elderhostel), combining a repertoire of some 4,000 songs from pop, stage, film, and world genres in addition to her original music with an extensive knowledge of entertainment culture and history in concert and classroom. Among Joy’s programs are her unique weave of musical history and storytelling in concert retrospectives with traditional, contemporary, and original songs.
